Pay InformationBenefits InformationJOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing comprehensive support and guidance to students participating in the ASCENT (Accelerating Students through Concurrent Enrollment) and TREP (Teacher Residency and Education Program) programs. Assist students in transitioning from high school to college, providing academic advising, career counseling, and personal support. Coordinate outreach and recruitment efforts and monitor student success and completion rates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. They do not encompass a comprehensive inventory of the obligations and responsibilities fulfilled in this role. The approximation of frequencies and time allocation percentages are flexible and subject to the requirements of the organization. - Monitor success and completion rates of ASCENT and TREP students and identify areas where additional support is needed. Daily 15%
- Provide extra support and guidance to first-generation college students in the ASCENT and TREP programs to help mitigate failure rates and ensure student success. Daily 15%
- Collaborate with college partners to facilitate a smooth transition for students entering college. Daily 15%
- Collaborate with high school counselors and administrators to support ASCENT and TREP students and promote the programs within the district. Daily 15%
- Provide individualized counseling and support to ASCENT and TREP students and help navigate the challenges of the first year of college. Daily 10%
- Coordinate outreach and recruitment efforts to inform students and families about the ASCENT and TREP programs and deadlines; participate in recruitment events. Daily 10%
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student interactions and program outcomes. Daily 10%
Ensure compliance with program guidelines and policies.

Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsem*nts, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsem*nts, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or similar field
- Experience with ASCENT and TREP programs
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching or Special Service Provider (SSP) license
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
- Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Basic classroom management and planning skills
- Basic organizational skills
- Intermediate verbal and written communication and interpersonal relations skills
- Ability to support programs designed to increase student achievement
- Ability to assume leadership in the development and communication of programs
- Ability and desire to work as a team member
- Ability to actively participate in a Professional Learning Community
- Ability to understand, appreciate, and make accommodations for student diversity
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholder groups
- Ability to serve as a role model and an innovative and creative learner with an insatiable thirst for knowledge that stays on the cutting edge of instructional practice and pedagogy

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsem*nts, designations, trainings, and other qualifications relevant to the position that are strongly preferred but not mandatory for a candidate to be considered.
- Master’s degree in education, counseling, or similar field
- Three (3) years of experience working with students in concurrent enrollment, ASCENT/TREP
- Experience working in the public sector
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement
