Liverpool are interested in signing Lille centre-back Leny Yoro but there is a belief that Real Madrid are the favourites to sign the 18-year-old.

Manchester United and Paris St-Germain have also been linked with the French player, whose deal with the Ligue 1 side will reportedly run out in summer 2025.

Lille president Olivier Letang has said, external Yoro will be allowed to leave the club this summer because of his contract situation.

Yoro helped Lille finish fourth in the French top flight last season, making 32 appearances and scoring two goals.

He made 44 outings in all competitions for Lille, who reached the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League before being knocked out on penalties by Aston Villa.

Fraser: Buy: Ederson from Atalanta - we need another defensive midfielder to supplement Endo. Sell: Luis Diaz - a controversial decision because I like him and he is a very good dribbler, but he hasn't been consistent. Loan: Fabio Carvalho - he could do with one more loan spell.

Ethan: Buy: Ollie Watkins; also, we should be improving our midfield by moving Trent Alexander-Arnold in there and getting Lutsharel Geertruida to come with Arne Slot. Sell: Darwin Nunez - but I really like him, and I don't want to sell him, so I would maybe loan him. Loan: Caoimhin Kelleher.

Brett: Buy: Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa. Sell: Mohamed Salah. Loan: Ben Doak to a top Championship team. This is going to be a season of transition for Liverpool, but it would give Slot a big budget next season.

Harps: Buy: Eberechi Eze - he would be good but he might be over-priced, especially if he has a good Euros. Sell: Mohamed Salah - it is time to cash in on him, like we did with Philippe Coutinho. Loan: Caoimhin Kelleher - I would prefer this to selling him, if it would be possible.

Sonny: Buy: Aurelien Tchouameni from Real Madrid - this would give Arne Slot the best chance of success in the coming seasons. Sell: Luis Diaz - as sad as it is, he is the best player that we could get by without and he could bring in a lot of money. Loan: Ryan Gravenberch - he didn't get enough game time last season and I fear he will get less next season.

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson says his "little injury scare" in training earlier this week is nothing serious and he only left the pitch as a precaution.

The Scotland captain said on Thursday it was to do with an existing ankle injury and he is now "physically and mentally good".

"It was an ankle injury which we had been nursing and I did not want to aggravate it even more," he said.

"We were relaxed but others might not have been - particularly my family!"

Scotland kick-off their Euro 2024 campaign against host nation Germany on Friday at 20:00 BST.

Former Liverpool throw-in coach Thomas Gronnemark has been speaking to BBC Radio Merseyside about why Jurgen Klopp brought him to Anfield in 2018:

"He called me and said 'Liverpool have had a great season, but we were so bad at throw-ins'.

"He'd been reading about me in the German newspaper Bild and that's the reason he called me.

"When I came, data showed that Liverpool were 18th in the Premier League for throw-ins under pressure. In my first season, we improved from 45.4% to 68.4% and went from 18th to number one.

"People might think it's only throw-ins, but there's approximately 40-60 throw-ins in a match and they use up 20 minutes. It's a gigantic thing in football. People have been neglecting this for many years."

Conor Bradley was the star in Northern Ireland's 2-0 victory against Andorra on Tuesday. He has now scored three goals in three matches for his country after not scoring any in his first 14 outings.

His double made him the youngest player to score twice in a game for Northern Ireland since Kyle Lafferty in March 2008 against Georgia.

Bradley scored his first, and so far only, goal for Liverpool earlier this year in their 4-1 victory over Chelsea, and this suggests he could be capable of many more in 2024-25.

Liverpool right-back Conor Bradley says "all of my dreams came true" after playing a crucial role in Jurgen Klopp's side last season.

After breaking into the senior team, the Northern Ireland international went on to make 23 appearances in all competitions - picking up his first senior goal against Chelsea and a Carabao Cup winner's medal.

The 20-year-old has revealed his hopes to "keep getting better and keeping improving" next season, and said he was "looking forward" to working under new manager Arne Slot.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, external, Bradley said: "It was probably a disappointing end to the season. We wanted more than one cup, but it was a brilliant season on a personal note.

"All my dreams came true in the past 12 months. It has been special and onwards to next season - we want to keep getting better and keep improving.

"Obviously there are going to be massive changes within the club. There will be new ideas and fresh faces. Hopefully it will go well and we can get off to a good start."

England have their first public session since arriving in Germany at the Jena Stadium. It's about 30 minutes from their luxury base in Weimar.

It will be the first look at who Gareth Southgate could look to be starting in the first game against Serbia on Sunday.

One of the biggest talking points is around Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold and his position for the national team.

For some time, both from the player and the manager, it has been clear that his future under Southgate is in central midfield.

Five of his past six starts have been in the position but the biggest question mark is if he can do it against elite opposition.

In those five games, he has played in centre midfield against North Macedonia and Malta twice each and once against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Alexander-Arnold has been given the number eight shirt for this tournament, which could be the biggest indicator yet that he will be the player lining up in the midfield three alongside Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham.

Mainz are interested in signing Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg but the valuations of the two clubs are too far apart for any deal to be done at present.

The 22-year-old spent the 2023-24 season on loan at the German club and made 33 league appearances, scoring three goals, as he helped them secure their Bundesliga status.

Mainz clearly want him back, while Liverpool reportedly want about £20m for the Dutchman, who joined them from PEC Zwolle in June 2019.

However, Mainz are not the only club keen on Van den Berg, with fellow Bundesliga sides plus other clubs from across Europe having touched base with the Reds about his availability.

The 2023-24 Premier League season may have only just finished but there is only 10 weeks until the 2024-25 season is scheduled to start.

So what are the key dates that you need to know?

When does the season start and finish?

The 2024-25 Premier League campaign will get under way during the weekend of 17-18 August.

It will take place over 33 weekends, with four midweek rounds and one Bank Holiday matchweek.

To allow for a mid-August start, there will not be a 'winter break' this time around. However, to avoid Christmas and New Year fixture congestion, the league will give more rest time to sides over three of the festive match rounds, with no club playing within 60 hours of another match.

The final round of fixtures will be played on Sunday, 25 May 2025, with all games to kick off at the same time.

When are the fixtures released?

When does the transfer window open and close?

The summer window will officially open on Friday, 14 June, which also happens to be the start of Euro 2024, and will remain open until Friday, 30 August at 23:00 BST.

Transfer deadline day has been brought forward this year to be in line with the other major leagues in Europe. The closing dates were set following discussions with the leagues in England, Germany, Italy, Spain and France.

Local Liverpool artist Abigail Rudkin says it was a "dream come true" to paint Jurgen Klopp's leaving gift.

The 23-year-old was asked by the club to paint a piece for the outgoing manager that showed his trademark fist pump in front of the Kop at Anfield.

Rudkin had met Klopp just a few weeks previously where she showed him a smaller piece of her work and, in a video posted on her X (formerly Twitter) account,, external the boss said he "loved it".

He has since received the new commissioned piece, external as a leaving gift from staff at the club.

Speaking on BBC Radio Merseyside's Total Sport, Rudkin said: "It was a bit of a mad thing to be honest. There was the original artwork that I did where I met Jurgen and I showed him it and at the time loads of people were saying 'why didn't you give him the painting?'.

"But it was because the club had already asked me privately would I do an even bigger one for him of him doing the fist pumps.

"He said at the time I met him 'I would love one of these, I would love one of my perspective from the pitch' and I'm glad that he said that because I knew I was working on something like this. It all worked out in the end.

"I was staying up until 3am just carrying on with it because I thought 'this is for Jurgen, this isn't just any painting, I have to just carry on with it'. When I got sent the picture of him holding it and he looked absolutely made up, I was buzzing and couldn't wait to tell everyone.

"It was an absolute dream come true."

Gareth Southgate has revealed that Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah has remained with the England squad for their final Euro 2024 warm-up friendly against Iceland on Friday (19:45 BST).

Uncapped Quansah missed out on selection for the 26-man squad but Southgate said: "Jarell has stayed with us. He hasn't had the experience of being at an England international at Wembley, so I think it will be great for him to be with us for that game.

"We will go from there and hopefully we won't need to call anyone else in."

Liverpool centre-back Jarell Quansah is one of the seven players from Gareth Southgate's preliminary squad to miss out on selection for Euro 2024.

Uncapped Quansah, 21, was an unused substitute in Monday's 3-0 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Earlier on Thursday, it was confirmed that Quansah's Liverpool team-mate Curtis Jones had left the England camp after being informed he was not going to be part of the squad heading to Germany.

Here is a selection of your responses:

Chris: A style of play. Manchester United have fallen apart due to a lack of identity and to a plethora of management styles. We can't do that. Our squad is good enough to compete but could do with additions to strengthen the squad, but without a clear identity on the direction and style of play, you won't know what players are needed to fulfil that.

Nick: Sort the defence - arguably every position. Defensive midfield, certainly, but depth at left-back and centre-back. Whether Alexander-Arnold moves into midfield as part of it. A goalkeeper, because Kelleher deserves to be a starter. Edwards is known to be ruthless, so who knows about outgoings, as long as there's a plan and strategy for Slot's style.

Andrew: Get Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk signed up to new contracts and have them stood with the captain/vice-captain armbands on as soon as they're back from the Euros.

Thomas: I think that if Barcelona are interested in Trent Alexander-Arnold then Liverpool should sell. He's good at corners and free-kicks but at the end of the day he's a defender that can't defend and why didn't Klopp play him in midfield? Is it because he can't or is reluctant to tackle? As for Salah, he isn't what he was. A big offer from Saudi Arabia should be snapped up. Nunez? I don't know.

Tom: A statement signing would be a great way to get the fans excited about the new era under Arne Slot. With Liverpool falling just short last term, any incoming players have to improve the first team and not just the squad. That said, last year's new look midfield should be better after a second season together.

Liverpool's structure is "set up" for new boss Arne Slot to be a success at Anfield, says Liverpool.com editor Matt Addison.

Slot officially started on 1 June, but much of his work with the team will begin in pre-season in July.

He has big shoes to fill following Jurgen Klopp, who delivered Liverpool their first league title for 30 years and became a club legend in the eyes of supporters.

"It would probably be pointless [Slot] trying to do it in the same way as Klopp did it [understanding the city and club]," said Addison on BBC Radio Merseyside's Total Sport.

"I don't think we have quite got used to it yet. We're almost in the middle of 'we know Jurgen has left, but you don't know what Slot is going to be like'."

In a change from Klopp's role, the Dutchman has become the head coach rather than manager, meaning he is likely to have less involvement in wider club and transfer business.

"He has got to be his own man, he has to do things his own way," Addison added. "He is head coach rather than manager so there are lots of other people around that can spread the burden and that will help with the new structure they have got.

"There is more expertise and people in those top jobs than there has ever been and that will help him. He can take on some of that front-facing role, press conferences, endearing himself in that way, while others sort stuff behind the scenes. He doesn't have to think of everything all at once.

"It is certainly set up for him to be successful."

Darwin Nunez scored three goals for Uruguay in their 4-0 victory over Mexico on Thursday.

It is his first hat-trick for La Celeste and takes his goal tally up to 11 from 23 outings for his country.

The game was Uruguay's final warm-up before they head to the United States for the 2024 Copa America. Their opening match is on Monday, 24 June against Panama.
